Le Jour Heureux de Bastille
According to free translations the title of this blog means....Happy Bastille Day! I know the postings have been lacking. My only reason for this is that my brain melted and it is still very slowly recovering. I turned in my last final exam on Monday July 3, 2006! Since then I have been enjoying from freedom from classes. I have done a number of things, just look!
* Saw DC's baseball team play Florida with my family type peeps (plus my sister's bf, even though he can't catch a foul ball to save his life!). I drank beer, ate a hot dog, and had cotton candy. That is how I express patriotism.
* Lit 4th of July sparklers in the rain, which is quite a feat.
* Lost several games of pool and drank more beer.
* Rode my bike into another state with the help of Racer - who mapped our trek through DC, into Maryland, and back through DC. We mostly did the Captial Cresant Trail from Georgetown to Bethesda then we skipped on over to Rock Creek Park and rode past the zoo back on down to the river. I was quite proud of myself, even though I plodded along unlike the always energetic Racer. At the end I whined like a baby and refused to peddle up the large hill leading to my house. But in my defense! When my companion and I calculated the distance we settled on at least 23 miles, what with our getting lost and having to turn around. Yay for exercise! Don't worry, I ate a handful of marshmallows as soon as I got home cause you gotta keep up the equilibrium.
* Ate a leisurely breakfast and read the Sunday Washington Post for hours and hours. So happy about that I can't even express.
* DSW. Nuff' said.
* Saw the most ridiculous thing ever. I am pretty sure I could get kicked out of school, become homeless, and start collecting used gum I find on the street and still be better than "The Hoff." But I am pretty sure the girl in the video says he is gay, which makes sense. Or maybe it is a translation thing since I can't imagine that video gets rotated anywhere that English is the native language.
* And now....I am going out with my friend type peeps to celebrate Bastille Day - even though I am not sure what it means to the French. But lord knows what anything means to the French, they are strange.
